Putaway - Select Location

Once all products have been received for the inbound shipment through the receiving process, the last step involves putting away the the freight. Within JASCI’s put away (slotting) process there are two different flows for an operator putting away freight, System and User Directed.

If the operational process involves the operator selecting the location instead of putting the freight away in the system assigned location, follow these steps:

Select Putaway from Menu

• The operator scans the put away LPN on the freight

• If a valid LPN is scanned, the system will display the putaway location

  • If the LPN is not valid, an error message is displayed the operator is returned to the Scan LPN screen

Different Location Preferred

• The operator selects ‘New Location’ button on the handheld

  • JASCI will prompt the user to scan the desired location bar code

• The operator scans the new location to confirm put-away

• If the location is valid the operator puts the product into the location

  • If the location is not valid, the system will display an error message and prompt the user to scan the location bar code for put-away

• The system updates the inventory and confirms on the LPN put-away is complete

• If there are no additional LPNs to put-away, the process is complete

• If there are additional LPNs to be putaway, the operator will select continue and be returned to step 1
