What is a Set Product?

A set is requested through a sales order by the end consumer while a kit is requested by a client. Sets are built upon request (via. sales orders) while kits are anticipated and pre-built and putaway. A set will be picked, packed & shipped as any other sales order would. Review the “Pick & Pack Discrete Sales Orders” work instructions for more information.

Step 1: Create Parent Product

  • The parent product is made up of all children products that make the set. The user will need to create the parent product in “Product Maintenance”.

    • 9 - View & Setup > Product Setup > Product Maintenance

  • Enter the details and variables of the parent product.

    • Review the “Product Creation” work instruction for more details.

Step 2: Create the Set

  • Once the parent product is created, the user will now be able to create the set (assign the child products).

    • 4 - Inventory > Kitting > Kit & Set Profiles

  • Click the “New” button to create a new set.

Step 3: Set Profile

  • In the “Parent Product” field, enter the parent product name that was created in “Product Maintenance”.

    • Reference step 1 (e.g “PARENT-SET).

    • Note, JASCI is case sensitive.

  • In the “Kit Set ID” field, select “Set”.

  • Click the “Save/Update Parent” button.

    • The user can now proceed to assign the child products.

Step 4: Assign Child Products

  • Click the green “Add” button to add child products.

    • Enter the product name in the “Child Product” column.

    • Enter the quantity needed per kit in the “Quantity” column.

    • If the product is pickable select “Yes”, if the product is not pickable select “No”.

    • If the product is a real product select “Yes”, if the product is not a real product select “No”.

  • Once all child products are assigned click the “Save/Update Child” button.
