Select Location Maintenance
Location Maintenance can usually be found under Setup → Location → Location Maintenance.
From here you can search for and edit existing locations with several criteria options, including barcode, area, description and type.
You can also click ‘Display All’ to view all locations, or ‘New’ to setup a new one.
Setting Up a Location
Once in the Location Maintenance screen, there are several required and optional fields for each location.
Fulfillment Center - Specify which fulfillment center the location belongs to (if there are multiple FCs)
Location - The ID of the new Location (will be scanned in work flows)
Area - Indicate the area the location will be in (for slotting, picking, etc) Default areas are Bulk (replenishment), Prime (picking area), Putaway (PAW), Pack (PAK) and Ship(SHP).
Location Type - Choose the location type, which determines how inventory can be picked - default types are Case (cases can be picked from a pallet), Pallet (entire pallet must be picked - no partial picking), Prime (partial picking allowed) and Virtual (no physical location associated - usually temporary paw/pak/shp location).
Location Profile - Associate certain location details and restrictions based on a previously configured Location Profile.
Wizard ID - Used in creating location batches.
Work Zone - Specify the work zone the location belongs to.
Check Digit - Alternate scan option to location barcode.
Alternate Location - Can be displayed on picking flow instead of usual location barcode.
Location Width/Depth/Weight/Height Capacities - Specify dimensions for this particular location. (Used in slotting logic)
Allocation Allowable - Location is available for picking or not.
Free Location when Zero - Once inventory in the location reaches zero, the location will be freed to be used again for slotting.
Free Prime Location - How many days until a location becomes available again.
Multiple Products in Same Location - Allow different products to be stored in the single location, and specify how many different products are allowed.
Slotting - Allows for system directed or manual slotting.
Slot Sequence - Ascending sequence for system to try and fulfill first during the slotting process.
Inventory Pick Sequence - Determines the pick path.
Shared Location - Allows for location sharing between 2 different companies.
Pick Clean - System will attempt to ensure this location is cleaned up first.
Aisle, Level - Control for forklift assignment - eg: cycle counting grouped by aisle/level.
Work Zone Restocking - Defines which work zone the location will be restocked from.
