Building Kits

A work order for kits must be created prior to picking. Review the “Kit Request” work instruction.

Step 1: Open “Cluster Pick”

On the mobile scanner, select the “Cluster Pick” work flow.

Step 2: Scan Work Zone & Cart

  • On the mobile scanner, select the “Cluster Pick” work flow.

  • The operator scans the work zone.

    • Work zone: DEFAULT

    • Note JASCI is case sensitive!

  • The operator proceeds to scan the kit cart.

    • OPEN sales orders are allocated to the pick tote at this point.

    • The kit cart ID is not the LPN.

Step 3: Verify Location

  • The operator is directed to a location.

    • The operator will verify the location by scanning the location bar code.

Step 4: Pick Product

  • The operator picks the product from the direct location.

    • Product details will be displayed.

    • If the product is not in the directed location, select the “Cut” button.

    • If the product is in the directed location but the expected quantity is not, select the “Cut" button.

  • The operator scans the product barcode.

    • If the product barcode does not scan, notify a supervisor.

Step 5: Scan Kit Cart Slot

  • The operator scans the slot LPN and transfers the picked product into the directed slot.

    • The slot LPN is not the kit cart ID.

Repeat: 3 - 5

  • Repeat steps 3 - 5 for all child products.

  • Once all child products are collected, the operator will need to physically and systematically build a kit.

Step 6: Begin Building Kit

  • On the desktop, select ‘Kit Build’.

    • 4 - Inventory > Kitting > Kit Build

  • The operator proceeds to scan/enter the kit build work bench.

  • The operator scans/enters the cart ID that was used to pick the child products for the kit.

Step 3: Putaway

  • JASCI creates putaway work and completes the following for the built kits:

    • Slots the parent product.

    • Prints the putaway label (AKA LPN).

  • If the operator has to build additional kits for the request, the operator returns to step 2.

  • If the operator does NOT have the build additional kits for the request, the operator proceeds to putaway the kits.

  • If the operator has to build additional kits due to a CUT, the operator will need to manually complete the work and free the carts.

  • If the operator does NOT have to build additional kits due to a CUT, the operator will enter the total amount of built kits.

Step 7: Build the Kit

  • All child products picked will be displayed.

  • Click the “Build” button to build the child products into a kit.

    • The operator will verify the amount of kits being built and any extra information if needed (e.g lots, expiry, serial numbers).

  • The operator will click the "Build" button again.

    • JASCI autogenerates the LPN putaway label at this point.

Step 8: Putaway

  • Once all kits are built, they will need to be putaway.

    • Review the “Putaway” work instruction.

  • No labels
